DAY 5 - SCHOOL AND FAMILY FARM
A Day to visit my former school, University of the Philippines Los Banos (UPLB) and have a taste of some Filipino fast food. It’s about 40 minutes by public vehicle. I was with my mom again. It was my first time to ride a public bus again. The speed was faster than what it was used to be. Just like the old days. The only thing that will keep you feel safe was the presence of a rosary, mostly found at the window of the driver.
There was no traffic. It only started after Los Banos on the way to Calamba.
Nothing really changed that much. Most buildings just seemed older.
We passed by Mernel’s cake which was really my favourite. No doubt, taste didn’t change. We ate in Chowking and had my favourite siopao, pancit and halo-halo. This actually only cost me 5 CAD.
It was a smooth trip. I didn’t feel tired yet when we returned home so Mom and I decided to visit our farm. It was only about 7-minute walk from our house. I never really visit our farm often even when I was in the Philippines , but now I felt an urge to see what’s there to see. “Sometimes you have to be far to appreciate what you have missed 🌳 “ This was the fruit of my father’s hard work , “MOLE’s Farm”. We have all sorts of plants and fruits like papaya, mango banana and rice. It was only now that I have really seen how beautiful it was.
